Rivenhall Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF), Essex

Project Overview

Our project in Rivenhall, Essex, began in July 2021.

The Rivenhall IWMF aims to convert 595,000 tonnes of waste through sustainable waste management. With the increasing demand for raw materials generating energy from waste is more essential than ever. The specialist team at the Rivenhall IWMF will be working diligently to use waste in an energy-efficient manner to contribute towards developing a circular economy and resolving part of the raw materials shortage.

Through improved recycling and the maximum recovery of energy from waste at Rivenhall IWMF, we can make a positive impact on the environment and take steps towards creating a sustainable circular economy, reducing the demand for the harvesting of more valuable raw materials.

During the waste treatment process at the Rivenhall IWMF, we generate energy that is released as steam and electricity. This is harnessed to use at our own facility as well as supply neighbouring residential areas and businesses.
