How an Incineration WTE Plant Works
-
1. Waste Reception:Waste collection vehicles deliver waste to the plant, where it is weighed and stored in a bunker.
-
2. Combustion:A grab crane feeds the waste into a combustion chamber.
-
3. Steam Generation:The heat from combustion boils water in boilers, creating superheated steam.
-
4. Electricity Production:The steam turns a turbogenerator, which produces electricity that is fed into the power grid.
-
5. Flue Gas Cleaning:Advanced systems clean the hot gases, removing dust, pollutants, heavy metals, and acidic components before they are released into the atmosphere.
-
6. Ash Management:The remaining ash is treated, and metals are often recovered for recycling, while the ash can be used as aggregate for construction.
